This London Poppy Day, the Company proudly sponsored a one-day Armed Forces Engagement Conference at Drapers’ Hall, held in partnership with COBSEO – the Confederation of Service Charities.
Over 200 attendees gathered to hear directly from experts and leaders in the sector. Among the keynote speakers were:
• Louise Sandher-Jones, Minister for Veterans and People, who outlined the Government’s strategy for the Armed Forces Community
• Lt Gen Sir Nick Pope KCB CBE, Chair of COBSEO, speaking on the vital support provided by Armed Forces charities
The day concluded with a powerful performance by the Irish Guards Band in Throgmorton Avenue, an uplifting finale that attracted a large City audience.
That aftermoon, the Master and Clerk joined other livery companies to help the Royal Legion sell poppies on London Poppy Day.
